The Queens is only 3 miles from junction 14 of the M4 – halfway between London and Bristol and within an hour’s drive of a number of historic locations including Highclere Castle, Blenheim Palace, Stonehenge as well as the quintessential English towns of Hungerford, Marlborough & Oxford.

Located in the beautiful village of East Garston, in an area of outstanding natural beauty and perfectly placed for visitors to the Ridgeway and Welford Park with their amazing snowdrops (Jan/Feb).

In the heart of the Valley of the Racehorse with some of the best racing yards close by and very convenient for those going to Newbury Racecourse.

Whether looking for an intimate table of two, a family/party table or your own venue for private use, The Queens has it all! On arrival you will discover a large friendly bar that leads into our newly refurbished restaurant & garden room and then our terrace and large enclosed garden – the perfect location for alfresco dining. Children and dogs welcome.

(Mon-Sat 6-9pm). An extensive menu that is varied and seasonal and wherever possible, uses local produce. Our pub classics will always be popular but there is also a varied selection of fine dining options and Fish Friday is a particular favourite with our regulars.


(evenings & Sundays 4-8pm). The Queens has two wood burning ovens which guarantees great pizza all year round!

Breakfast is served in the Garden Room and offers the option of fresh fruit, pastries and cereals or alternatively you can create your own full English.

Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed in the restaurant, bar, garden room or when the English summer allows, outside on the terrace. Our menus give you the option to enjoy a pub classic or one of our head chef’s exquisite a la carte dishes.

Sunday lunch is a feast of delicious roasts and proper puddings whilst in the afternoons we offer pizza straight from our wood-fired oven.

Our menus are suitable for all diners with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes available and whatever your choice we have a wide selection of wines to match.

From Junction 14, head north towards Great Shefford and Wantage on the A338. As you enter Great Shefford the road swings sharply to the left. Turn left, following signs to East Garston 1¾m. Don’t turn off this road and as you enter East Garston, you will see The Queen’s Arms on your right.
